For expert information and background knowledge about furniture, there's no better place on the web than www.myfurnitureforum.com, an online "bulletin board" that has become one of the premier sources for real-time information. There you can find all sorts of answers to your questions, and learn about what makes quality furniture worth the investment.

The Keeping Room is a family business that began in 1981, originally dealing with period antiques. As prices soared for good American antiques, we moved into high-quality replicas that have the look and feel of 18th Century pieces but at a fraction of the price of the originals. All our furnishings are handcrafted in the United States by period artisans, and are made to exacting standards to last for years as heirloom pieces.

As we begin our thirtieth year of business, one thing we have observed is that high-quality classic reproductions not only hold their value over time, but can actually appreciate in value, making them true investment grade items you can enjoy daily.

We also have become one of the eastern seaboard's highest volume dealers of quality leather furniture, with excellent relationships with Hancock & Moore, Bradington-Young and McKinley leather.

Shipping is available worldwide and have our own delivery trucks for areas within 100 miles of Washington DC.

We have sold and built pieces for several museums and historic properties such as The White House, The Treasury Dept., Historic Mt. Vernon, Gadsby's Tavern, Carlysle House, Pequot Indian Museum, Woodlawn Plantation as well as many of the props for “The Patriot”, the Mel Gibson Revolutionary War movie.
